Please join Stormin' Norman & Suzy (SUZY WILLIAMS & NORMAN ZAMCHECK) for this VERY SPECIAL concert, the first time ever in Los Angeles with a full band.

At eighteen years old, Suzy met Stormin Norman Zamcheck, a Yale graduate in literature, composer and damn good boogie woogie piano player. As partners, they cut two albums: Fantasy Rag, 1975 and Ocean of Love, 1978. They toured the east coast for 12 years, eventually playing Carnegie Hall, network television, and won rave reviews from the New York Times to Rolling Stone. With their unique rag'nroll, they created an amazing body of songs, combining blues, rock and jazz. In 1976, the great jazz pianist and composer Eubie Blake paid Suzy an inspiring compliment in the form of a handwritten letter, "I heard alot of white women try to imitate negroid singing, but you are the only one who has it down pat." They continue to tour together every year. Watch for a new cd soon.

STORMIN' NORMAN & SUZY have shared stages with Manhattan Transfer, Tom Waits, Koko Taylor, Eubie Blake, Odetta, London Wainwright, Roosevelt Sykes, John Hammond, Tracy Nelson & Mother Earth, and The Roches among many others. Guitarists who have played with Stormin' Norman and Suzy have included Marc Ribot, Mark Shulman and Jeff Golub. Stormin Norman & Suzy have performed with Pilobolus Dance Company

The stellar musicians for this special Oct 16 concert include: Ken Rosser - guitar (Smokey Robinson, Kenny Burrell, Jerry Garcia, Todd Rundgren, John Cage)

John Humphrey - bass (Carol King, Scott Henderson, Jean Luc Ponty, Savoy Brown) Nic Scarmack - drums (Al Jarreau, Diana Krall, Rod Stewart, Suzy & Her Solid Senders) Jon McBride - sax & organ (The Gumbo Brothers, The Sugar Daddy Swing Band, Suzy & Her Solid Senders)

SUZY WILLIAMS has worked with Van Dyke Parks, Buster Poindexter, Marc Shaiman, Nicholas Ray, Moses Pendleton, Steve Weisberg among many others. Bette Midler, Horace Silver, Roosevelt Sykes, Ann Magnuson, Eubie Blake, Odetta and Hadda Brooks have praised her passionate singing and vibrant energy.

"Suzy's voice is vibrant and lusty...great gusto and bold emotion." - Nat Hentoff.

"Williams' energy must be seen to be believed...a natural performer." - Robert Palmer, The New York Times

"Williams is an enormously amusing, endearing presence...with tough, belting authority." - John Rockwell, New York Times.

"Suzy Williams is a very talented singer with a wide range who knows how to put on an entertaining and witty show. She can sing anything from 1920's jazz and swing to blues, rock & roll and folk music. Williams' highly expressive vocals are always worth hearing." - Scott Yanow, LA Jazz Scene.

The LA Weekly deems Suzy Williams "LA's Diva Deluxe" More on ***Suzy's ENJOY THE RIDE cd http://www.allaboutjazz.com/php/article.php?id=37211 and http://www.laughtears.com/sanfran.html
