Ken Chant

Jazz Entrepreneur

(Got Jazz?)

Ken is someone every jazz musician wishes they had in THEIR audience. Ken is more than a fan; he is not only a friend supporter of Live Jazz, he's also a friend and supporter of the 1917 Jazz Band. Thanks Ken! You're the best!

Ken Chant,    Ken is a math teacher and Dean of Faculty at The Woodhall School in Bethlehem, Connecticut.  He's been on the Board of Directors of The Great Connecticut Jazz Fest since the fall of 1998.  Ken is famous for helping local musicians survive by selling their CD's anytime  everywhere!
He got into jazz when someone asked him if he liked Dixieland in 1980.  He didn't know, so he checked out The Freight Train Four (now Five) on Thursdays at The Griswold Inn in Essex CT and he's been there on Thursdays ever since.  He's now a regular at The Gris on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and at Bill's Seafood in Westbrook on Saturdays and sometimes Fridays.  You can also catch him at the Hot Steamed Jazz Festival in Connecticut and the Thanksgiving Festival in San Diego.
