Originally formed in the summer of 2000, Dogger consisted of founding members Josh Blanchard, Brant Kay, John Dinos, and Daniel Payne. Kay and Blanchard, veterans of the Charlottesville music scene, were successfully playing small bars and clubs as an acoustic guitar duo, when bass player Dinos approached them with a desire to expand the group to a foursome. Kay suggested Payne as a drummer, and Dogger was born.
