Hey, Mr. President!

"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed. This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of its children. This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the cloud of threatening war, it is humanity hanging from a cross of iron."  - Dwight Eisenhower 4/16/1953

10/7/78 Alan and the Cabs:

I never will forget

Alan and the cabs

it started on the sidewalk

with Kenny, me and Babs;

Al was feeling awful,

we headed for McDoughal.

he wanted a falafel

we needed to be frugal

So low on beans

we split the scene

and we headed for home

So we stared talking

about what we should do

while we were walking

on Sixth Avenue

We were tired

We were cold

We were feeling so bold

We were running a tab

what the hell - hail a cab!

Alan hailed a yellow limo

i counted all my change

loo at all de preety women

man, did we feel strange

Left on 29th Street

Thank you for the ride

Al and I were totaled out

And then we got inside

The lifts they were both broken

SH*T, F*CK, PISS and SCREW!

Just a stairway to heaven

what else could we do

Eleven flights of stairs

straight up from where we were standing

Al humiliated every firehose

on every single landing

As we entered the eleventh floor

we gave the door a few choice jabs

I never will forget the night

of Alan and the cabs.

16-OCT-1978

For the third straight week, reports of strange, unexplainable accidents of all kinds, in all different situations, to all sorts of people, all over the world were being monitored by governmental agencies from all the major powers.

As my hand broke

the perfect stillness

of the water's surface,

another hand

touched mine

and pulled me

gently and completely

under

into a quiet

liquid

luxury.

touched mine

touched mind
